Sleepyhead in next to me?

Just wondering if anyone has used a sleepyhead in their next to me cribs, I've seen an awful lot of mixed views on it. Just wanted to see if anyone has actually done it? And how well it worked out.

They don’t recommend a sleepyhead is used in any crib.

I used one with my first son in a next to me and he slept brilliantly in it. My current newborn isn't as happy in it. I think sleepyheads were lumped in with positionners by lullaby trust after a few baby's say died in the positionners. From what I could find no baby has actually died in a sleepyhead. I wouldn't use if your baby is a roller though. Mine never were

I did and the mattress ended up going mouldy underneath!

This was on a snuzpod - I then googled it and it seems like a fairly common occurrence.

There are safety concerns about over nighting in a sleepyhead which I think it the main issue. But for me it was either that or a mother that was so tired she ended up driving off the road. I chose the lesser of the two I believe.

I use it, mine hasn't gone mouldy underneath. I researched sleepyheads and no baby has died in one. I didn't get one initially because of the safety advice on sleep pods, but for me it was life changing. My mental health/anxiety improved ten fold when my baby started sleeping better as opposed to waking every hour or 2

I do. The mattress is just too hard and I think he felt a bit lost in the crib.

I used a purflo not a sleepyhead. A purflo has a breathable mesh underneath where as I believe a sleepyhead is just fabric underneath.
I did end up letting DS fall asleep in it then removing it from the crib once he was asleep.

Just read up on the 'The Sleep Tight Baby Bed' and it says:

'The Sleep Tight Baby Bed is a safe place for your baby to rest and sleep, day and night. Tested to the very latest and most relevant safety standards for a baby’s overnight bed, The Sleep Tight Baby Bed is the first of its kind to be certified for unsupervised, overnight sleep from birth.'

If I were to choose any again it would be a purflo.

I did but out of desperation because he wouldn’t sleep on his next 2 me as it was and only wanted to sleep on me or DH (like many newbies) I didn’t want to, but we were both sleep deprived and we had to do something. Currently pregnant with DC2 and if he/she sleeps in next 2 me fine then I won’t introduce the sleepyhead, but if it’s the only way we all sleep I will use it again.

We do and it's great. Also researched loads and I think one baby died and cause wasn't actually the sleepyhead so God knows why it's frowned upon. Apparently mattresses that are not firm are a danger. The sleepyhead mattress is fine tho, firm and flat.

But if you are worried, there is a sleep nest approved by the lullaby trust, purflo i think. Not sure if it fits in a next to me tho.
