Little girl 4 months old and starting to think about how to do self soothing as only 2 months away.
She's awake every 3 hours for a week feed during day and 4-5 at night so don't think she's ready yet!
My question is should I keep her dummy when I self soothe or get rid of it as so much conflicting evidence I have researched just wanting other mums experiences and advice TIA.

I would 100% keep the dummy. She is unlikely to be able to self settle without a dummy and it will just result in lots of tears. You don’t have to sleep train at 6 months though.

My dentist advised me to let my DD keep her dummy at that age as he said you could take a dummy away when the time was right whereas you couldn’t remove a thumb! He saw lots of children with teeth needing braces due to thumb sucking.

Don't know really, but we're having the same discussion about DD who is 6.5 months! My elder child ended up with one until 2.5 years, but he was far more dependant than DD is and my main reason for not removing hers it to stop her disturbing him. I'm tempted to remove it, but when we do need it, it's really helpful.

@FoxtrotSkarloey yes our little girl has days where it's only thing that'll help settle her! Staring to regret giving her one 🤣
