i put a post on a while ago saying that i can not get ds to go into his own bed. but know the only way to comfort him is to let him in our bad till he falls asleep and then put him back into his own bed but now i am doing this 3 or 4 times a night any advice on how to comfort him and get him to sleep without putting him in our bed as i feel he is now coming depent on it.

Sounds good tylersmum!

maomao, dd's just gone 2. She also says very strange things when she first wakes up. This morning when I went down she was saying 'I feel mixed up' but she didn't say about what?!

maomao · 31/10/2004 13:23

What great news, tylersmum!

Happy belated to your dd, prefernot. How sophisticated she sounds to know that she feels mixed up!

prefernot · 31/10/2004 20:20

maomao, how old's your dd? Mine says she feels mixed up but I'm not sure she knows what it means... . She says lots of adult-sounding things which I'm sure she can't really understand. It's hilarious.

maomao · 31/10/2004 20:33

My dd is 17 months, but looks like she's two. I've just started teaching her things like emotions, and she's just learned to tell me when she's tired (which is a godsend, truly!). How did you fare with the time change?

prefernot · 01/11/2004 11:21

Well, maomao, if you look at the 'clocks going back!!!!!!!!' thread that someone else started, you'll see how we coped with the time change ... How about you guys?

maomao · 01/11/2004 20:40

Sorry to hear that you've been having a difficult time. I've been fortunate with the time change, actually. We'd been in the States for 6 weeks, and so I was in the process of adjusting dd to the right time zone anyway, so the clock going back actually helped me there! She woke yesterday at 3 a.m. though, but was able to fall back to sleep after being told that it was not time to get up. We'll see if she's able to keep that up! (Or not, as the case may be.)

Is your dd waking at the same time irrespective of when she goes to bed for the night?

prefernot · 02/11/2004 14:03

Yes, maomao, but she always does. When she's had an occasional VERY late night if we've been out she'll rarely sleep more than 30 mins or so extra in the morning. Having said that, this morning she woke at 6am and I went in, gave her some water and said go back to sleep and she did for an hour but that's unusual.

hi thought i would just give you all an up date.
am having to sit next to ds cot for 5 mins and then i creep out it takes him about 45 mins to go to sleep as for some reason he is not sleepy and relaxed before bed like he used to be but he is sleeping about 12 hours a night with no waking.
