Hi there,

So our 18-months old DD has slept through quite consistently from about 14-15 months. We did have a relatively long period of early wake-ups when her pre-molars were piercing through around 17 months, but in the last couple of weeks things seemed to be getting back to (almost) normal.

However the last two nights were awful, so I'm wondering what's going on! Both nights she woke up in the middle of the night screaming, which is very unlike her. Last night she cried unconsolably for 2 hours, and finally settled only after a dose of Nurofen.

I saw her rubbing her nose yesterday, and when she woke up last night she was putting her whole hand in her mouth crying.
Could it be canines??
I thought we would get a bit of respite after the pre-molars :(

What is cutting canines like in your experience? Does anything help?
I'm not prepared for this sort of antics every night :(

Thanks

@Sandrine1982 canines were awful for DD! They seemed to be really painful for her :( other than neurofen, teething powder and cold fruit like melon sticks to bite there's not a lot I can recommend I'm afraid but just wanted to empathise with you! We think DD is getting her molars through now - again, not fun. I cannot wait until all teeth are through!

I would give nurofen and use anbesol liquid but if it continues she should see a GP to rule out an ear infection.

We did get her a banana teething toy from Amazon which seems to help a little, here's the link:
