20 month old late bedtime

So my 20 month DD is slowly going to bed later and later to the point its now normally between 9-10pm. Which then means she wakes up late as well. I know I could wake her earlier to try and start the day early but I dont like to think shes not getting enough night sleep... maybe I should just do it? Otherwise she wakes around 8:30 - 9am.

She has always gone on awake windows rather than a time schedule so she needs at least 5 hours awake before shes even ready for a nap and thats if im lucky - she normally is awake for 6 hours before a nap.

Her naps are around 1hour but can last 2 hours.

She also has childcare from my mum and MIL 3 days a week and sometimes she doesnt nap with them until around 3pm meaning she doesnt wake until 4pm which is just a vicious circle because then she isnt ready for bed until late yet again.

Any advice? Do I need to start waking her earlier or start dropping nap etc she struggles without a nap at the moment

My daughter is the same age.

We're up and out by 7.30am to work and nursery so does differ but I finds she needs at least 40-60 mins a day at around 1pm latest and then it's bed again at 7-7.30pm.

I mean it's not strict, if she doesn't sleep at nap time that's fine too but I find she gets so overtired and the meltdowns start around bedtime! Same with too much sleep at nap time.

I would wake her earlier, she'll soon get used to it Grin

Also try and make sure she gets earlier nap at grandparents houses too if you can.

My mil does two days childcare and reckons my daughter doesn't need a nap anymore... she's not there at 7.30pm trying to control a tantrum'ing toddler Wink
