Im sahm to my almost 3yr old

I'd say

*the time spent with your little one
*missing nothing
*being able to run the house well, cleaning etc and keeping up with maintenance so evenings can be spent with partner chatting rather than on jobs
*lots of time to take your child to fun things and out and about

I suppose repeatedly, time 🕑

I work 2 evenings a week but I'm mainly a SAHM for my daughters aged 10 months and 4.

Advantages for me:

  • the main one is spending more time with the kids
  • getting to choose what they do and learn about rather than following what the nursery choose
  • far less stressful than my job was (teaching)
  • no rushing around to drop them at nursery and then get to work etc
  • save money on nursery
  • more time to see my friends
  • more time to cook, which I enjoy

Overall it was the right choice for us, but it's not for everyone. Also it's a good idea to ensure you have something to do to have an independent income and keep your skills up, even for a few hours per week.

I'm a sahm to a 3 year old and 1 year old.
Advantages:
A lot less stress than previous job (also teaching)
Being there for all milestones
Not missing out on anything
Being able to go out (pre covid as 1year old has barely left the village since he was born) on day trips to museums and libraries
Enjoying time with my children
Being able to record events in their day and share them with husband who works really long shifts.
No nursery fees
Not having to rush around to get children to nursery and then public transport to work
