Hello

my DS2 (9months) was still waking up for a bottle feed at 10.30 and 2-4am, and I was really tired.

the last couple of days, I've given him a snack of porridge (after being lukewarm about other makes, he goes a bundle on PlumBaby porridge) just before bed at 6.30

last night he slept through [cue Halleluja Chorus.. there isn't an emoticon to express jubilation]

just in case this might help anyone else...

Thanks t4t - I might just try that. Can I ask what time your DS has his tea though? Mine (8 months) has his about 5pm so may not be ready for porridge at 6.30. It might work on nursery days though when they are given tea at 4pm.

We have stopped the night feeds but he still wakes every night and it takes longer to settle him back than it ever did when I fed him!

^ same, my DD (7 & half months) has her dinner at 6pm, bath, 6:30pm and bed 7pm. She wakes at 10:30 demanding milk feed and then still wakes at 4am, 5am, 6am, 7am......

I used to do that with dts, it did seem to work, porridge is very filling.

the lady in the paper shop (who has raised about 100 kids and is my main childcare adviser) also reccomended porridge.

He has his tea normally at about 5pm, but loves this porridge so much that he scoffs down a whole bowlful without any fuss

my mum tells to put a spoon of babyrice in the last bottle, which is apparently not good to do according to current medical advice, but I think a bowl of porridge probably has the same effect
