How do I change this? Can I change this? I’m exhausted...he sleeps for half an hour to an hour then wakes up for another feed, no matter how long he feeds for!

He’s breastfed. Give him an expressed bottle before bed, makes no difference. I’m exhausted.

Thanks

I should say I am too scared to co-sleep, we aren’t set up for that and he hates being swaddled and won’t settle as he likes to bring his legs up for his has. He has white noise which he likes but it doesn’t keep him asleep.

He has reflux but the crib is tilted. Have tried massage.

Overtired? How are his naps in the day - how much sleep does he get total?

Dummies saved me. mine was very ‘sucky’ rather than hungry and would ‘run’ if put down to sleep. Partner did a bottle in the evenings so I could go to sleep 7.30-12 and that just took the edge off enough.

(At the worst times I wore an ugly warm pyjama set so didn’t need a duvet and made a pillow pile behind me and under my elbows (so I couldn’t move from sitting up in bed), and had him on my lap so I could doze without moving. Don’t judge! )

It might be worth a call to a local helpline as it could be a supply issue (if you are knackered you don’t supply enough; or if they throw it all up and keep going back for more then they’re not digesting enough and your boob isn’t emptied to get to the better milk and it’s a bit of a cycle. I had to try to stretch out feeds in the day which helped). Or could be that losec is needed to help with the reflux.

I’m sure you can have someone come to your house to help hold while you have some sleep. Good luck x

Sounds normal, sorry OP us is exhausting. My son had reflux badly. Tilting the crib did not help. Also EBF. He struggled lying down
and preferred to be held.He needed bicycle legs after every feed really, not practical in the small hours. It took a VERY long time for his sleep to improve significantly, the reflux improved at 6 months but then he stayed a bad sleeper until about 18 months. Very tiring.

Funny enough I did same as OP, right down to the ugly pyjamas!

You just have to try to rest in the daytime as much as you can, and maybe if your OH can hold the baby in the evening a few times a week so you can get a solid 3 hours sleep, you will feel better.
