i have scanned a few wind threads but was wondering could you give me a few more pieces of advice:

b/f baby to sleep, try to wind him but cant get anything up, 30mins later hes awake and it can take 1 1/2hrs to resettle as it did tonight, without feeding him, as i want to feed him well at 11pm. what do i do?

does my diet affect the breast milk sufficently to cause wind? if so what should i avoid? as an example had red pepper soup today, had blue cheese on burgers last night, roast chicken tonight.

when does the whole wind thing stop?

any other tips welcome, i know they are posted in various locations but my brain aint functioning very well these dyas

Try to stop before he's asleep to wind him-say halfway throught he feed. remember that bfed babies generally don't have as much wind as bottle fed so perhaps he hasn't got wind. You say that he's awake for an hour and a half and you want to feed him at 11.
At what time does he wake up for an hour and a half? perhaps the 30 minutes is just a nap and he's not ready for bed yet.
How old is he? Tiny babies tend to eat and sleep a lot.
I found that my diet did affect dd when she was tiny. eg sprouts would give her horrible wind, too many grapes gave hhr bellyache etc.
Make sure that you're eating well enough as you need more energy in the beginning to bfeed. also drink plenty of water otherwise you'll end up dehydrated.

you have my sympathies... wind is an awful business isnt it... look at my thread under health, called 'what works for wind'.... I do belive that diet affects windy babies, and have found that being gluten free and largely dairy free has helped dd.... I am still bf so am gluten/dairy free also..... my dd is one, still has wind probs.... how old is your little one... can you describe the problems more?

spod hes 13wks on friday, i can hear his tumbling gurrgling and rumbling away after feeding or whilst feeding. he gets so cross 30mins after the feed and pulls up is legs, grunts, o just v irratible.

when it comes up, he is then wide awake. so his daytime sleep is minimal and night settling a bit aggravating for me and him i suppose but come midnight its not a problem, in the night!

i ll check your thread, thanks
