after a bloody awful night with dd waking at 12.30, stayiny awake till 4.30 at least then playing up all day, we went to watts (baby shop in m'bro) to buy a gro bag. everyone gos on about them and had mothercare version when she was small so decided to give it a go.
picked the prettiest in her size and let her take it out of packaging and play with it down stairs at tea time.
come to bed time, shes sat on floor watching balamory and i lay her onto it to put on..............oh my god....crying isnt in it, take her upstairs to calm her down, but still pulling at it and saying 'out'.
wouldnt have any bottle and eventually got her into bed by making small gradual movements so as not to wake her!!!
crept down stairs and didnt hold out much hope for a quiet night as she likes to kick about so went to bed early incase of another nightmare night.
next thing i know its 6.15AM!!!!!!!!! she had over 10 hours constant settled sleep!
oh what a wonderous invention!!!!!!!!!
hope she does same tonight and forever! as d.test in morn and could do with a clear head!!
to anyone having probs with toddlers sleeping (mine 18 months) try a grow bag!!
saying that i might be back tomorrow in tears from lack of sleep and lack of licence

she's 2 in dec. past couple of nights she has slept through although has been up til 11!! may invest one of those if she continues to climb out of the cot but past 3 nights she hasnt so hopefully be a while before she does again.

cars all clean, washed it today. took me nearly two hours as i was forever checking on dd. i couldnt go out today as i had a clio stuck right behind me and i couldnt move forward. how annoying. hopefully can get out tomorrow as i have a parent and toddler group to get to! good luck for tomorrow

EvesMama · 21/10/2004 21:19

going great, going to his on monday til wednesday. not sure whether to drive up or go by train. never been on motorway before and id have to go on M25, so may be safer going by train. will see how i feel at the time. probably be on the motorway for 5mins and then be coming back to get the train lol. he told his mum we're thinking of living together and she didnt take it too well, im dreading seeing her on monday lol

EvesMama · 21/10/2004 21:28

well ive only 'known' you for 5 mins and i think your great!

once shes had a sit down and youve chatted to her im sure shell be fine...same as your mum really, no dp would ever be 'really' good enough for you and his mam probably thinks the same! prove her wrong hun!!!!

Yes, EvesMama, I've no idea what we'd do without grobags. Dd's been in one since she was 2 months old and is now 2 years old. She's such a wriggly sleeper, she'd NEVER keep blankets on. And I feel fairly sure she can't climb out with it on too.

See you at Christmas do?

tammybear · 21/10/2004 21:31

lol, aww thanks evesmama, think you're great too I dont think she'll talk about it, as dp just said it was an idea, which is probably better as it softens it a bit than saying yes we're doing this! But apparantly his dad was showing dp how to fix the toilet as mine broke yesterday so he's been teaching him how to do jobs around the house so i think that might be a sign that theyre warming up to the idea

EvesMama · 21/10/2004 21:32

wheres it at?

and hows your dd? posted a couple of places but never saw you? is she eating better now?

lol, his parents are really nice though. and his mum has taken to me quite well as Im the nearest thing she has to a daughter. i just dont want her to think im taking her youngest son away from her, as her oldest is still living at home with them

tammybear · 21/10/2004 21:35

ooo Ive been looking at the london christmas party threads, I would like to go to one, but not sure if I can

EvesMama · 21/10/2004 21:36

oh are they in London? that rules me out then...thats a shame!

grobags are one of my fave baby things. I used to panic all night that ds would get blankets over his face or get too cold
He tosses and turns all night and often ends up completley the other end of the cot and the other way round. He wouldn't cope with a proper bed.
It's great to hear you had a proper night's sleep. I do hope you get another one!
I had a baby that woke 2-3 times a night for a feed at 7.5months who went from that to all night sleeping pretty much from one day to the next.
He's 13months now and since 7.5months has woken a handful of times.
Fingers' crossed for you

tammybear · 21/10/2004 21:37

i think there are some in other places, like theres one in yorkshire i think, but the nearest ones to me at london

biketastic · 21/10/2004 21:38

Oops - just seeing if it works as PC keeps crashing!

Evesmama - good luck for tomorrow, you can do it!

Tammybear - get on that motorway girl!! It's easier than normal roads...once you get on it that is, that's the hardest part! Just stay in the 'slow' lane till you build your confidence!

EvesMama · 21/10/2004 21:40

Thanks biketastic!
