Have a fleece walk-in sleeper. Does anyone else use them and if so what do you dress baby with underneath?

yes, we are big fans of these in our house as DS finds them so easy to zip on after ds's bath. We just put a vest on underneath, same as we do for other sleepsuits.

dissle · 13/10/2007 11:52

mine lived in his and still does, he is 4!
i just put a nappy underneath, and a vest/babygrow.
they are fab for winter.

admylin · 13/10/2007 11:52

Dd used to always sleep in one, she just had her underwear on underneath, on the odd occasion in deep deep winter she would have long underwear on. She had socks on too!

TheApprentice · 13/10/2007 11:53

I meant DH puts them on, not DS!

rubadubadoo · 13/10/2007 11:56

will he be warm enough during the night with just wearing a body suit underneath as the suit doesn't feel as thick as the 2.5 tog bag he's used to wearing and under that he's been wearing a body and a sleepsuit.

I use these for ds and he just has either a long or short sleeve vest underneath depending on how cold it is, he's always warm enough.
If he's not warm enough you could always put a thin blanket over him as well but they are really warm anyway.

CappuScreamO · 14/10/2007 11:19

I have 2 of these but I fear putting them on dd2 (2.10)

she wore one when she was 18 ms and tripped up and fell

does this improve?

fifisworld · 14/10/2007 11:38

If you have a primark near you they have them for £3 and they have a rubber print on the bottom of the feet which helps them to walk in them.

lissiethevampireslayer · 14/10/2007 11:40

get all off mine from primark. they wash really well and ds loves them, they are so warm. even when he kicks the quilt off

lissiethevampireslayer · 14/10/2007 11:42

all OF mine

Skimty · 15/10/2007 12:49

Can I just check...Are these what I need for my for a sleeping bag hating, duvet kicking, waking up because it's cold 13 mth old to sleep in?

Flamesparrow · 15/10/2007 12:53

what's a "walk in sleep suit"?

MeltingandScreamingIcarus · 15/10/2007 12:57

Yep.

My dd1 (3.5) still sleeps in one as she hates grobags and will not stay under the covers.

We put jim jams underneath though (freezing Scotland here)

MeltingandScreamingIcarus · 15/10/2007 12:58

One with feet I presume?

princessmelBABY · 15/10/2007 13:00

Depends how cold it is and what he's sleeping under, duvet or grobag etc.

Whens its really cold (not yet) dd wears a vest and a sleepsuit under hers. And socks.

chopster · 15/10/2007 13:04

jsut a vest. They are great. Tesco does some for about £7 I think, or if you want to splash out Mothercare has gorgeous ones for £15 that are a tad thicker. They do Thomas and fireman sam for boys, my dts adore them and have never tripped. The only drawback is the paddys when it comes to getting dressed int he mornings.

Flamesparrow · 15/10/2007 13:09

Mine just wear as is They don't feel the cold though

lissiethevampireslayer · 15/10/2007 13:10

skimty, ds is just like that, thats why we bulk buy them!

fairyfay · 15/10/2007 13:14

My DD wore one as she wouldn't keep the covers on and hated her grobag as she couldn't move around so used to wake up in the night because she was freezing cold. I put a vest, babygrow/pyjamas or both under it depending on the weather

Skimty · 15/10/2007 13:15

I think I may be heading to Primark this afternooon!

Do they do adult sizes for when I'm huddled next to his cot? "Just lie down and go to sleep before my toes drop off..."

omeN666 · 15/10/2007 13:18

dd2 uses just the sleepsuits as she wont stay under a blanket and grobags trip her over as she walks around the cot.

Ds and dd1 also sleep in them on top of covers.

lissiethevampireslayer · 15/10/2007 13:29

fraid not. our house is v cold and i wish i had one. (great flannel pjs tho)

tigerschick · 15/10/2007 14:05

Skimty - apparently you can buy them for adults!

chopster · 15/10/2007 14:27

I've seen them on eaby before for adults. Some are along with the err adult nappies, etc!
