My 19 week DD is BF and was sleeping 7-7 no problems, and then the last week or so she is wakeing up a few times round 2 to 3, a few times round 4-5 and a few times around 5-6 - I'm totally knackered, she has always been a good sleeper, so its like going back to having a newborn! She has a dummy, so I keep popping the dummy in to settle her, I'm sure she'd feed if I tried, but not sure its hunger as wouldn't settle with the dummy if it was. She maybe teething - so this might be causing it altho not displaying all the symptoms, possibly I should wean her, altho everyone says wait till 6 months? She does seem more interested in our food? She sleeps in a grobag which she is happy doing so - when swaddles she thrashes around more so don't think that would improve things...? Am totally at a loose end as to what to do - is this a phase or a new habit?

Please help...xx

I would feed her.

It sounds like it may be the 4 month growth spurt.

19 weeks is very young to go from 7-7 -I'd consider yourself lucky that you had it when you did, and what she is doing now sounds absolutely normal.

I wouldn't start solids yet - more milk is what she needs.

If you feed her on the first waking at 2-3, you may find she then sleeps through till morning.

it could be a dummy addiction and it is making the waking worse instead of better. I had to take ds's dummy away at 5 months due to him waking for it. Alternatively your lo may be hungry and is just being pacified until her next period of light sleep (approx every 45 minutes). Could you try feeding your lo more often or for longer in the daytime and/or giving her a dream feed when you go to bed? That way you could be sure that when she woke it wasnt out of hunger but for some other reason.
