Help with sleep

We’ve gone from having a newborn that did 6 hour stretches, 3-4 month old that did 10 hours to having a 5.5 month old that keeps waking him self up multiple time’s a night.
He doesn’t want feeding. He keeps thrashing around with his arms, rolls him self on to his side (he is a tummy sleeper), grabs at his face etc then needs re settling. It’s all started since he has been trying to crawl but can’t work out if it’s developmental or something bothering him.
Is this common at this age? When did it settle back down for you?

Sounds development to me. My 6 month old learnt to roll and would have us up every hour for about 1.5 weeks getting stuck. It was so hard work. I couldn't even rest in the day as his naps were the same and husband at work. I rang my mum every day in tears. As soon as his back hit the mattress he would roll over. Stay quiet for a short while then roll again. As soon as he mastered rolling both ways he stopped setting stuck. Now be just wriggles that far up the bed be bangs his head but this is only two times a night at the very most. Don't get me wrong, it was amazing watching him develop but just not every hour over night.....bless him.

Is your baby teething? My boy rubs his face so hard when struggling with teeth.

Hope this helps. Xx

He was rolling both ways by 4 months and I was hoping that didn’t mix with the 4 month regression but he seemed fine and it didn’t bother him then. Yet since he was been trying to crawl he wants to practice the rolling and crawling at all hours and like yours he hits his head on the cot bars. He also has two bottom teeth for the last few weeks so had given calpol in the hope that was it but nope he was still up partying.... sorry your going through it too but also glad it’s not just me 😂

I always take comfort knowing it's not just me. In the most selfish way possible 😂 the health visitor told me that once they start to learn something they spend all the time doing it and to give baby plenty of floor time to keep practising. X

Glad you saw the funny side of that and didn’t take offence to it 😂
I hope he settles back down soon, it would be so bad if he was waking for a feed through genuine hunger but waking just because he feels like practicing new skills is not ok 🙄😂good job he is cute.

Oh god no. I don't offend easily. I think when you become a mum your expectations and morals go out of the window 🤣🤣

Really hope you get some sleep soon. I threaten my boy with sleeping in the shed - afraid it never made a difference. Funny little creatures aren't they.
