3 month old nap refuser

DS is 3 months old (13 1/2 weeks) and EBF. For the past 2 weeks, he has seemingly been incapable of napping. He used to self-soothe, but will now only fall asleep while feeding, and jolts awake after 5 minutes at most then won't go back to sleep even if I rock him or feed him. He works himself up throughout the day to the point where nothing will stop him crying because he's so exhausted.

I start our bedtime routine (bath, pajamas, story, sleep bag, feed to sleep) at 6:30 because he's miserable by then, as he's been effectively awake since 7am, but he often doesn't fall asleep until 8 or 8:30, following the same waking pattern as naps. He wakes every 2-3 hours in the night and can be coaxed back to sleep with feeding, but the past 2 weeks have been worse for night wakings as well and they last nearly half an hour each.

His room has a blackout blind, white noise, a good cot mattress and is the correct temperature. I try to put him down for a nap 45 minutes after he first wakes in the morning, then I try to get him to sleep for 45 minutes to an hour before giving up and bringing him downstairs for an hour. Then I repeat the process...all day. I'm lucky if I have 5 minutes to eat or go to the toilet, let alone do household work.

I feel like I've lost my smiley happy boy. Honestly at a loss here. Any ideas or hints?

I use the Huckleberry app for naps. It has helped my baby massively as she used to be a nap refuser. I assumed she would just sleep when she was tired but that was not the case. I remember one day when she only had one 30 minute nap all day and that was the turning point.

Are there any other issues with reflux etc? Both of mine were refluxy babies and hated being laid flat.

My eldest would only nap whilst being held or in his car seat. He would never ever sleep if laid flat. Youngest also hated being laid flat, but he would happily nap in his cot set to an angle. He was swaddled with a dummy and white noise on to help him settle.

If he likes feeding to sleep, have you tried a dummy?

I have a 4 month old. He doesn’t nap in his cot. I find if I put him in his pram after around 2hrs being awake ( sometimes less than this), he usually falls asleep. I walk the pram around garden, or kitchen it needed so yes he is rocked to sleep, but at least he naps that way.

He wouldn’t be ready to nap 45 mins after waking really.

Thank you!

He doesn't have reflux that I know of, just the normal spit-up and wind for a baby his age. I will try angling the cot though! He used to nap in the pram, but has only cried in the pram for the past two weeks.

I've tried introducing a dummy many times, but he just spits it out after 30 seconds. I'll keep trying to push this.

I go for the first nap after 45 minutes because he's started yawning and staring blankly. I could hold off longer though?
