dd can climb out of her cot

She can climb out of her travel cot when we stay at my mum's, and last night she climbed out of her normal cot. Is there anything I can do to prevent her from doing this, as she banged her head a bit when she landed. She climbs out at the end, sticks her leg over, pulls herself up, and somersalts to the floor and the floor isnt particularly soft either. She's 2 in December and I can't get her a bed as her room isn't ideal to be sleeping in a bed and wasn't expecting to put her in a bed til sometime next year. Suggestions, as i dont have a clue what to do

Could you put her in a gro-bag as this might make it slightly more difficult for her to stick her leg over the cot bars? Wom x

You could put the side down lower so she doesn't have so far to fall and then put cushions/mattress/thick duvet underneath.
I used to worry about this too.

One word: GROBAG!

Though if you get a smartie like my ds2 who unzips his grobag then climbs out of the cot then, no - there's not a damn thing you can do. I used to wonder about a lid! Ds2 started climbing out of his cot at about the same age (after unzipping his grobag)and I moved him to a bed.

If you can't have a bed then I guess damage limitation - leave the side down so it's easier for her to climb out, put something on the floor to soften her landing. I guess worse case scenario would be to get rid of the cot altogether and have the cot mattress on the floor. The other thing I did, once ds2 could escape from his cot was to put a stairgate on his door so at least he was contained in his room.

lol marthamoo bout ur comment on a lid.

will look into grobags, and i do have a stair gate on her room as she doesnt have a door, but also theres the problem that her room leads to the bathroom, and the door can easily push open

marthamoo, did you ever try putting the grobag on backwards? I defy your little Houdini to open a zip down his back ...

I did consider putting it on him backwards - but as we already had a bed in his room it didn't seem a big problem to put him in it (actually, I lie - he was a s*d about going into a big bed...but that's another story!)
