Any tips for sleep during TEETHING?

DS - approaching 9 months and normally a good sleeper - currently sleeping maximum 1 hour at a time - mostly waking every half hour or so. Has 1 tooth so far - top gums bulging like crazy. Also has a mild cold, but that doesn't seem to be bothering him so much. Am using Calpol, Calgel and Teetha granules. Nothing works! Any other ideas?

change calpol to medised, has antihistimine in it (i think) makes them sleep.
calpol always sent mine a bit loopy (the colouring I think!)

Is Medised OK for 9-month-old?

Medised is great and I've been using it with ds2 since he was about six months.

A wet flannel kept in the fridge to suck on?
Bonjela on a soother?
Long walks outside in the stroller?

Hey

Nelson's Teether powders seem to work for Joeph (most Boots stock them). They are homeopathic so you can use them from early on (J's 4months). They seem to be working as long as I use them regularly.

They may help but they're not fool proof so I am trying Calpol tonight so he does not wake up every hour or so!

Good Luck!

bonjela

Also, during the day cold sticks of carrot, celery or cucumber worked on my dd.

Sorry to be a bit controversial but how do you know it is the teething that is the problem and not the cold, from my experience colds esp blocked nosees cause alot more sleepless nights than teeth. If you imagine lying flat with a cold it would certainly drive me crazy. i sometimes think that people put alot down to teething and don't always look at the options. Just trying to get you to look at it from a different angle sometimes this helps??

I've said this lost of times before but Ashton and Parsons. I swear by them. You can get them in Boots. I still use them now when dd get grizzly or isn't settling at bedtime.

I wouldn't use it regularly but if I am having a really bad night with teething I use Dozol. It's got parecetamol plus something extra which makes them drowsy.
