3 month old will not sleep by himself

Morning all! I've not been able to find a thread which covers this so thought I'd start a new one!

I'm a FTM and my little boy is 13 weeks old. It is so hard for him to fall asleep by himself, he will only do it if we are going 30 mins plus in the car. He used to fall asleep in the pram and has done in his bouncy chair in the past but now he just doesn't. The only way I get him asleep is rocking and shushing and he does a lot of crying before sleep. I should add that he is very alert and nosy and wants to look at everything! I do watch his awake times and keep an eye out for sleep cues so I don't think I can do anything better with his day time sleep. He also sleeps 12 hours overnight but still has a bottle every 3 hours due to reflux although he's not always awake when taking the bottle. He won't go in a sling and is quite a large baby. I am exhausted with it, I feel like I can't get out anywhere because of the merciless screams before he goes asleep and that I have to rock him for him to go asleep.

Has anyone any experience of this or any tips pleeeeeease?

Thanks for reading,
One tired mama.

Can you not let him fall asleep on you then transfer him? And leave your T-shirt, dressing gown next to him as something that smells like you? I found using my dressing gown as a blanket made my baby sleep longer.
Also with the reflux, have you tried different sleep positions? My ds also has reflux and he always sleeps with his top half raised. And in his cot he sleeps on his side and it stops him getting bokey

Sucking to sleep stops the crying. Have you tried a dummy?
