6 week old not napping

My 6 week old dd is amazing at sleeping at night. We have a bed time between about 8 and 9 and we do massage, pyjamas, feed, lullaby and sleep. She goes to sleep on her own and generally settles well and is fed a few times at night but doesn't really wake. She sleeps for roughly 12 hours so she is amazing.
She's not good at day time naps though and gets very over tired and grumpy. I totally understand that newborns shouldn't be awake too long but I don't know how I can physically make her sleep. We try her pram, cuddles, sling and the baby box and it's hit or miss if she'll sleep and often wakes after 45 mins. We try for 3 naps a day but she's not getting enough day time sleep and I don't know what to do.
Any ideas?

You're probably leaving it too long between naps so she's getting too tired to fall asleep.

At six weeks, your baby should be napping for around 15-40minutes at a time, and shouldn't be awake for more than an hour at a time. She won't be capable of longer naps for a while, sleep is little and often at this age.

Babies struggle to sleep when they are too tired, a concept my dh could not wrap his head around at all when ours were small 😆😆
No idea if it would work, but could you try soothing her and putting her into a sleep place before she is properly tired? So something like, wake up in morning, busy alert time, calm time, feed, down to sleep... But getting to the down to sleep part before she is obviously tired.

Also. My two both preferred to sleep when motion was a factor during the day (i.e lying in the pram on a walk).

Which reminds me, if they were struggling to drop off, I used to walk so the daylight was on their face, they would close their eyes against the light and that triggered them to drop off. Bit sneaky but worked.
