Ewan the dream sheep problem

So we have two daughters and a third enroute. We discovered Ewan with our first daughter (she went through 6). Our second has had two and still uses them religiously (we got her the grey after DD1 had the people). The problem is they only did Ewan in two colours. Now #3 is coming, I want to get two new Ewan's and dye them green or something. Anyone got any bright ideas that don't involve giving Ewan a dip? DW thinks we should try a different product (myhummie) but I want to stick with Ewan.

All three of mine have a purple one... do they have to be different colours?

difficulttod · 02/07/2020 21:34

Why don’t you write DVs names on the labels or sew a letter on the ear, something to personalise it? I don’t get why it has to be a different colour.

DCs that should say

My eldest has an elephant projector/musical lullaby and my youngest has a Ewan. I love Ewan’s song so much I want for myself!

I wonder if your solution could be a different lullaby contraption and a Ewan comforter instead. So all your kids have one in essence just not the exact same thing.

Sew a ribbon on to one / all of them?

Persipan · 03/07/2020 01:08

If it's made from man-made fibres like polyester (which I think is very likely) then it's unlikely to dye well and you could end up making an expensive mistake if you try. I'd try securely sewing something round its neck, like a ribbon or a bandana kind of thing (like the My Hummy bears have).

Hiddenmnetter · 03/07/2020 05:19

Sewing a ribbon on isn't a bad shout actually. It's just differentiating in the dark whose is whose, because woe betide you if you pick up the wrong one... The reason they can't ask be purple is they all get destroyed in a slightly different way... My eldest has ruined 6, but she can tell difference. I could if I'm looking at it in full light. But while they're being put to bed having the right one to hand is vital.

I think a ribbon sewn on is a good plan though.

Ah ours stay next to their beds in their rooms so no danger of getting them mixed up really. They don’t play with them, just have the music on at bedtime.

If a child loves a soft toy, buy three and rotate regularly so they all get "foxed" at the same rate, then if one gets lost or damaged you have at least one indistinguishable substitute.
Mind you, I guess these things are expensive!

Persipan · 03/07/2020 07:13

In that case sew on ribbon with a bow, and then you'll be able to feel it. If you think you need to add ribbons to all of them, put the bows in different places.
