My little boy is 5 1/2 months old he's now learned how to roll for the past two nights he's been rolling over onto his belly all night I roll him back over on to his back and he's awake he goes back to sleep but then literally ten minutes later he's doing it again and then I got to roll him back over and he's awake he normally sleeps all night is this just a phase is there anything I can do to stop him from rolling in the night constantly

This is normal development. Please see this advice from the Lullaby Trust. You can leave your baby alone once they can roll over. Gently tilt their head to one side if necessary. Lots of tummy time in the day to strengthen their head muscles. www.lullabytrust.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/fact-sheet-back-to-sleep.pdf

Once they can roll by themselves it’s fine; the health visitor told me to still put baby down to their sleep on his or her back but if they roll that’s fine

Thank you, I've been so worried with him rolling onto his belly in the night thinking what if he can't breathe and then I'm just watching him all night and rolling him back onto his back every time, so shall I leave him when he's on his belly and make sure his head is tilted so he can breathe?

Once they can roll independently no need to interfere. They’re neck muscles are more developed and strong enough to move their heads around to ensure breathing.

As long as the mattress under them is a smooth solid surface (no padding / duvets to make softer) they’re fine wrt to having space to breath. If there is some kind of padding under then it could cause breathing issues

Yes, it's fine to leave them as long as they can breathe clearly. He's probably more comfy on his front.

My DS is 7 months, can roll both ways and sleeps on his front. Health visitor wasn’t in the slightest bit concerned. He has reflux and said all reflux babies like to sleep on their front so she wasn’t surprised he’d chosen to, she said it’s safe now he’s strong enough to roll.
