11 week old sleep

My 11 week old (DS) normally wake at around 2-4am for a feed, however, night before last went from 8.30pm-4am and then last night 8.30pm through to 6.50am with no need for dummy replacement or anything. Now he has slept through will this be regular or fluke?
Thanks :-)

It’s probably not going to be regular but enjoy it !

AS soon as you know baby can go overnight without a feed, I would recommend stopping night feeds unless in exceptional circumstances (when baby is inconsolable).

Try to do only dummy resettles and see what happens.

Really? He started to stir at 4.30 this morning so put a dummy in a couple of time and the. Got up with him at 5.40am once he woke and was fully awake. I worry that he needs feeding if he wakes up again at his usuals 2/3 o’clock time and I would be bad to not feed him!

Don't feel bad for feeding him! It's fine to carry on if you want to.

It's a bit of a chicken and egg situation. To get 100% of calorie intake in the daytime, then baby needs to have none at night. While ever baby is having night feeds, he's not going to be so hungry in the daytime. So which do you do first?

Id aim for extra daytime feeds (by reducing the gap between feeds) in the daytime, so that then none is needed at night.

I used to do a 10 mins / 1h rule. Id try to resettle with a dummy for 10 mins in the night. Usually baby would have resettled in that time but if not, then I feed. If baby has resettled with the dummy but wakes up again within an hour, then I just go straight for a feed. If longer than an hour then I go back to dummy resettle first.

Ok great, I will see how he gets on then 👌 he has been getting all his ounces in the day still as upped his feeds by an ounce per feed so he hasn’t lost any calories :-)
