When did you introduce a duvet/pillow?

Hello! I'm getting a lot of pressure from MIL to get a duvet & pillow for my 10 month old as he isn't sleeping the best. I don't like doing anything before the guideline age as they are there for a reason but just curious to see when other people introduced this . Thanks x

Not recommended before age 1 due to overheating and suffocation risk

Mine got a pillow age 1 but didn't get a duvet until they were finished with a sleeping bag at age 2½ years

When he went into a bed at 2.5

I got a thin toddler pillow when DS was about 1 and he got a small duvet as well at about 18 months (he was the size of a 2 year old by then though!) I definitely would not give a duvet before 1, absolutely no way. Is he in a sleeping bag? Maybe you could up the tog?

Yep, 2.5 here too
He was happy with sleeping bags and i liked thrm as he was slightly contained. At 10 months a baby wouldn't be able to get the duvet back on anyway, would be worse for you!

My 11 month old ends up in all sort of funny positions in the night - I don’t think she’d manage to get a duvet back on at this point and it would be a lot more hassle than the sleeping bag.

It was just before turning 3, I think - had grown out of the >36 month sleeping bags so I finally conceded (it did get kicked off a lot, as I expected!). Pillow was around the same time, just a thin toddler foam one (Clevamama) but we could have done without that for longer. Sleeping bags are great - don't give them up before you have to! And pillows/duvets aren't particularly safe until they're older anyway.
