Baby rolling on to front in sleep

My baby is 6 months, can roll from back to front but hasn't mastered rolling from front to back yet. She frequently gets 'stuck' on her front and gets frustrated until I roll her back.

We've just transitioned her to the cot and she rolls around a lot in her sleep. A few times I've woke up to her lying face down in the mattress (not even with her head turned to the left or right) and gone in to flip her over which then wakes her.

Should I continue to flip her over and wake her or do I leave her as she's clearly comfortable lying this way? Its giving me anxiety!

Oh I feel you! It's so scary isn't it!
I would continue to flip her over as she is face down in the mattress.
My DS is 11 months and prefers to sleep on his front which I hoped he'd be back sleeper! He has had his face down a couple of time and it's scary!

Lullaby Trust advice for when they cannot roll both directions is that if you notice baby isn't on their back always turn them over, but no need to stay awake to do this.

Practice rolling in the daytime. Once rolling both ways you put baby to sleep on their back then leave to find own position.

Yep I had this issue too. My 7mo can roll both ways but when he falls asleep on his front, he seems to forget he knows how to get back on to his back and just cries. He normally links sleep cycles well but on his front he can't seem to, so I have to flip him over and then he has to get himself back off to sleep. I now try to flip him before he wakes up, if I do it smoothly enough he stays asleep. It's easier at night when he's in a deep sleep. It's frustrating, because when he's awake he can easily roll front to back!
