Best white noise machine or app for toddler’s room?

Can anyone recommend one? There are loads on amazon but tbh I’m terrified one of them will have an electrical fault and combust in my son’s room!

I was thinking of using an old phone and an app but not sure if this is a good solution either. Any tips?

I use an app called “white noise lite”. Lots of different noises on there and it has a sleep timer if you don’t want it on all night

BillywilliamV · 24/05/2020 07:01

Just get a fan?

weepingwillow22 · 24/05/2020 07:04

I use an app called sound sleeper. Alternatively alexa does white noise.

Goodebe · 24/05/2020 07:07

I like slumber buddies, can get them online second hand or Lidl often have them special buy - they have a 45 minute max setting though so no good if you’re not wanting it on all night

Goodebe · 24/05/2020 07:08

Just trying read the post above - Alexa would be great, also on offer at the moment for £30!

LunaLula83 · 24/05/2020 07:08

Dont do it. Weaning off is so much harder.

LutherRalph1 · 24/05/2020 07:11

The Avantek one from Amazon is brilliant, can't fault it

Melamine · 24/05/2020 07:12

The avantek ones are meant to be good. I use an iPad with spotify though!

DizzyR · 24/05/2020 07:15

Thank you so much guys! Checking out the apps and Alexa.

@LunaLula83
I’m really worried about weaning off but after months of early wake ups I’m willing to give anything a try. Today it was 4am and our neighbours banged loudly on the wall Blush

As in they were banging because he was crying 😩

Is he waking up earlier since the mornings are brighter? Sorry as it sounds obvious, but I didn't make a connection for a while, and black out curtains have made the world of difference!

Winchking · 24/05/2020 08:09

We've got a My Hummy Bear. They're massively expensive new, but you can get them for £15 second hand of you're lucky. I like that you can put it in the bed with them and they have a movement sensor so only turn on if child is stirring/awake. I was sceptical, but it does seem to work.

YouJustDoYou · 24/05/2020 08:12

I use the Relax Melodies app and did for years on an old.phone. almost 7 years later and the children all fall asleep to some gentle music playing in the corridor which then gets switched off after theyre asleep as they dont need it un the night any more, and then I need the white noise in my OWN room as can't sleep anymore in the dead silence of the house! 😅

FLOrenze · 24/05/2020 08:15

If you tune in to Sounds on the radio they play Calming sounds at 9pm on CBeebies Radio. There is a different sound each day and you can choose which one suits you best.

DizzyR · 27/05/2020 04:49

Thank you for all your suggestions. I’ve tried the white noise lite app and also a fan and still having early wake ups (today 4:10am, yesterday 5:10).

His room is pitch black with zero light seeping in so don’t think this is the issue. We’ve had months and months of early wake ups (with the odd 7am wake up interspersed between) so maybe it’s just the way he is 😭😭😭
