Help with 9 month old.

My 9 month old has never been a great sleeper, not through lack of trying on my part either. She used to settle pretty well at bedtime but I can be up with her anywhere from 3-10 times a night-until recently.
She has started having longer naps, 2x1.5hrs but come bedtime she's started treating that as a nap so it's knocking on 10 when she finally succumbs.
She has a dummy, comforter, white noise, dark room etc. I can't tell if she's needing more or less daytime sleep.
Her wake times between naps are roughly 2.5-3 hours which I think is correct for her age.
I'm sure I remember a poster on here who was fantastic with advice from having my first(who I thought was a crap sleeper) FATE.....

How late is her second nap? I try to have the longest stretch of awake time between nap 2 and bed. I know they say sleep begets sleep but my first was the opposite...less daytime sleep and exhausting him was the best way to improve night time sleep. Other things that spring to mind - teething? Separation anxiety? About to crawl/stand? Also do you have blackout blinds as evenings are getting lighter?

Last nap is around 1400 and usually lasts 90mins, might be worth looking at dropping to one nap but she is so cranky in a morning I worry that will make her worse.

So she's waking at 3.30pm? Might be a bit late...I'm no expert but I would be tempted to keep the morning nap and then start to cut short the afternoon one so she's not asleep after 3pm or longer than an hour. As I say, no expert and my first was a crap sleeper but hopefully my reply will bump for you for more knowledgeable mn-ers!

Thank you very much for you advice! I know it's not an overnight thing for us but we need some advice.
Today for example she woke at 0730 and was needing a nap by 0950 then a nap at 1350 but only for 45 mins and now she's so tired and cranky.

Hmmm, that sounds tough. I'd be tempted to ride it out now and try to distract with playing/dinner /bath. Then possibly an earlier bedtime....? Of course you then run the risk of an earlier wake up! I might try it though and see what happens. Also, is the grumpiness definitely tiredness? Sorry not trying to be annoying but are you absolutely sure it's not teething? I'd be tempted to give a dose of calpol and/or some teething gel and see if it helps. Good luck!
