Cat napping

Hi , has anyone ever encountered cat napping during the day? Our daughter ( 4 months ) sleeps for 20 mins every 2.5 hours and is just grumpy! I have tried everything to get her down like driving and walking miles with Her, sometimes it works and she sleeps.

Any one have any pointers on this?

Hi, I'm not sure i have many pointers, but I have the same issue, so Im hoping someone else will be along soon with some advice. My 4 month old isn't getting a decent chunk of sleep in the day, and gets progressively grumpier as the day goes on. She will also only nap on me, which was sweet at first...but I have a 4 year old too, who I'm trying to keep entertained in the day, and it's not really working for us anymore.

Does your daughter take a dummy? How is she fed?

I do find that my daughter is most likely to sleep for longer if she's in a stretchy sling (and if we keep moving).

With my eldest, I remember reading about 'wake to sleep', which tbh I haven't tried yet as the thought of waking an already grumpy baby scares me. The theory is that if you ever so slightly wake the baby just before you think they'll naturally wake up, then if you sort of rock/offer dummy/leave them to settle themselves/whatever works, that it'll trick them into starting a new sleep cycle and sleeping for a longer period. I believe this is also used if you have trouble with baby waking seriously early too.

She's breast fed mainly but we have started giving 2oz of bottle per day or as much as she will take, unfortunately she won't use a dummy , she just spits out all the time .

We have tried following advice and books but she just won't self settle and needs to be rocked, pushed or drove to get to sleep
