Toddler won't sleep

My daughter is 2 years old and sleeps in her own toddler bed. There is a gate on her room which stops her coming out during the night and hurting herself. She fights bedtime every night. It takes around 2 hours to get her to sleep. We have tried routine, earlier bed times , late bed times, napping earlier, getting rid of naps . Absolutely everything but every night she fights and I then shout because I'm fed up and then I feel guilty and it happens all over again. I feel guilty every night and hate bed times..

Most of my mums friends describe the same thing. I don't think they are as tired because they aren't doing so much during the day now.

Yes same here with my nearly 2 year old. Bed time is taking forever. I'm guessing it's a combo of lighter evenings and less over all activity in the day. But even now that we've been able to venture a bit further for exercise and making a conscious effort to wear them out a bit, it's taking an hour and a half plus most nights. Whether I keep her up later, go earlier, cut the day time nap a fraction. I'm just trying to roll with it now. But mines never been the best sleeper anyway.

Sorry but just to add, I hate bedtimes too at the moment. Woke up yesterday dreading it. And there have been some moments where I've been frustrated and feel guilty too. You're definitely not alone.
