Hi,
My LO is such a noisy sleeper he goes full nights thrashing and banging his legs off the bed. He started this about 3 months in but it wasnt too bad i could block it out or resettle him so he would be peacefull but lately he does it from about midnight until he wakes and I cant sleep with him doing it, last night i had to hold his legs so he could relax and try to sleep better but i cant do that all the time, im so exhausted so if anyone can shed light on why hes doing it and/or if they have any advice as how to help settle him better id be greatfull

Can you pop him in a sleeping bag? My girls legs are all over the place and if i put a blanket on her its off in seconds. She sleeps better too

This will be a very unpopular thing for me to admit, but my DD was like this and at 4 months we broke and put her in her own room. It was a game changer.

I recommend a sleeping bag, my little one was thrashing his arms and legs constantly. We also had to get him a bigger size (he was 5.5 months so we moved him into a 6-12 month sleeping bag) and it worked wonders, no more banging

Try the sleeping bag first.

Then consider moving to a separate room. If you're worried about SIDS use one if those angel are monitors if it helps

We always used a sleepyhead / cocoon type bed for all three, was great! Also, youngest was in own room at 4 months! Had and still is a fantastic sleeper 7 years on!

Just a note on advice upthread, sleepyheads aren't recommended for unsupervised sleep as theyre a potential SIDS risk. Though, so apparently is sleeping in their own room sub 6 months, so use your own judgement, just something to be aware of.

Thanks guys,

I have him in a sleepbag but it doesnt make any difference unfortunately also we did have him in a sleepyhead at first to get him used to his snuzpod but hes now a bit big for it (even though it says up to 8 months he looks proper squished in it). I might have to bite the bullet and try him in his own room in the next couple of weeks.

My second son was a very restless sleeper, he was asleep but it kept me up. He went into his own room at six months. I think we were disturbing him too and he seems to like having more space to spread out as well, now that he’s in a cot and not the Next to Me.
