What should baby wear when it’s hot?

It’s rather warm tonight and our bedroom thermometer is actually reading 25! It was 28 earlier and that’s with the window open! We have the window open and fan on now but it’s still hot.
I’m a FTM and baby is 6 weeks... what should she be wearing? It will likely cool down in a couple of hours and then get fairly cold later on, but for now I don’t want her getting too hot. I personally am not too uncomfortable but I am wearing a vest top. She is wearing a onesie and short sleeved vest underneath... I feel that’s way too much for right now?
Thanks!

Do you have a long sleeve vest? Are you using blankets or grobag? I would put a long sleeve vest on with a summer grobag as I wouldn't want their arms getting cold.

I used to do that with my DD.

There is actually a handy guide that the grobag company have on what to wear... I can't post a link but you can google it.

I don't know if this will help but a friend who works in childcare sent me this as I had the same question the other night!

Thank you! Smile we use blankets, sorry I should have said. She has a sheet and cellular blanket at the moment. She does have a gro bag somewhere, I need to dig it out of her mound of stuff she has been bought lol. Not sure what tog it is though

Id do a long sleeved vest and a blanket not doubled over at that temp. It's better to be too cold than too hot. A cold baby will wake up and let you know they are cold. Check babies chest or back for an accurate temperature to the touch.

I didn't bother with grobags for either of mine when they were tiny. Found blankets far easier when dealing with middle of the night nappy changes (both of mine pooed after each feed without fail). I'd go with a long sleeve sleep suit, no vest and a single cellular blanket if it's 25 in the room.

With no grobag I'd go with just the sleep suit and one cellular blanket. You can always add another blanket or put the vest back on when you do a nappy change/feed.

It's a minefield and I remember being very anxious about overheating!
