How to get baby to sleep in her own bed?

I have always co-slept with DD since she was born. All the tricks of the trade did not get her to sleep independently (swaddling, white noise, warming the mattress etc) However she is 6 months old on Tuesday and I feel the time has come for her (and me) to sleep separately.
I want to try getting her to nap in her cot (in her own room) before tackling the night time routine!
I've made half hearted attempts previously to get her to nap in her cot. A few occasions she would fall asleep but only for like 20 minutes. If she naps in my bed she'll nap for 1-2 hours. If she wakes up and is still tired, she goes straight back to sleep. I don't have to rock her to sleep or hold her to sleep. I literally just lay her down on my bed give her, her dummy and she just goes to sleep.
Now I'm ready to tackle this sleeping independently properly. Any advice on how to go about getting my daughter to sleep in her own bed would be great. I don't believe in letting her cry herself to sleep, for me that is not an option.

If it ain't broke don't fix it OP!

Let her sleep in your bed. 6m is so little, still. She gets reassurance and comfort from your smell, I'd personally just keep her there seeing how successful it is!

Failing that, sleep on her cot's fitted sheets for a few days so they smell of you, try putting a hot water bottle on the cot mattress to warm it up and removing it just before you put her down, do same routine as bedtime every time, play lullabies etc

I had a shit sleeper, she's 5 now but I have a 6mo now too and I'm doing exactly the same bad habits I did with DD! Blush
But it does all sort itself out in the end.
Good luck!
