My baby wakes crying

My baby is 5m old
She sleeps well at night and naps during the day.
She doesn't fuss much unless tired or hungry.
She sleeps well anywhere such as car, pram out and about etc.
My issue is that during the nap that takes place sometime during 3-5pm, she wakes up screaming. Im usually holding her and at home. It takes a few minutes to settle and this can happen 3 or 4 times in say half an hour, eventually she then stays asleep for the rest of the nap without any more episodes.
She doesn't do this if she is asleep in pram or car, which sometimes she is at this time.
She also doesn't do it during other naps where im holding her.

Iv know idea what it happening or why. Im not sure why she is so upset.
Any ideas welcome.

Sometimes when my baby (now 12m) would sleep on me he would get a bit fussy and wake up quite hot with red cheeks.

Also sometimes the position they are in, although will be really comfy for them on mum, but maybe for a long nap might wake up a bit achy like we would if we slept on something that wasn’t a mattress. That was my theory anyway!

Maybe try cuddling her to sleep and then putting her down once she’s dropped off? Might not be the answer for you but good luck anyway! Smile

Thank you replying.
Thats helpful. I do wonder of she is hot, or more likely position. Such as dead arm etc. I may pay more attention to these and see. I usually try and put her down, I always fear she will wake up or not nap as long.
I really should start putting her upstairs for naps when at home.
