Sleep disturbances due to teething - how long can this last!?

My 15mnth daughter has been teething like an absolute beast for what seems like months. I feel awful as I usually have to give her pain relief overnight and I'm conscious that this has been going on for at least 6 weeks.

She wakes up crying, often inconsolable. She has cut three molars and has one more coming through right now - I can see the golf-ball like swelling around the erupting tooth.

Anyone else had this? I guess I'm looking for reassurance that what I'm doing it ok RE pain relief?

Have you given it every night for the past 6 weeks ? If yes I’d prob check with a gp x

Does the pain relief work? As in, once you've given the Calpol/Nurofen does this settle her until morning? If so, and given that you can see the teeth sprouting, I'd carry on until #4 is through and hopefully she will settle again.

If she doesn't settle after the meds, it might be an early 18 month sleep regression and/or a developmental thing. At 15 months, the explosion of walking/talking/learning about the world could mean she's processing a lot overnight and unsettled because of it.

Either way, it should settle soon. I would aim to stick to your normal bedtime/nightime routines as much as possible and just do minimal interventions to ensure she is safe and happy.
