5mo sucking teddy to sleep

Hi all - we weaned our 5.5month old off her dummy a month ago as she was so dependent on it she couldn't sleep through without it and I was up replacing it every 40mins through the night.
It was very hard and she really struggled to get to sleep. She now seems to have replaced the dummy with the arm of her teddy (I don't even remember when it happened) but over the past few days she has become very dependent on it and I was up 6 times past few nights putting it back into her mouth to get her back to sleep (as she can't manage it herself yet)

Should I wean her off the teddy as well? I like her having a comforter / something she has to comfort her but worried she is so sleep dependent on it and how many times a night we are both then up because of it. I am also worried I'm not teaching her the skills needed to self settle to sleep without sucking.

Should I let her have it and hope she learns to replace herself in the night soon or take it away?

Help - very tired mummy. Thanks all.

She obviously wants to suck at night; I assume there was a lot of crying when you removed the dummy? If it was me I'd give her back the dummy and cosleep

My DD chewed the ear of a bunny rabbit from about 4 months. She still does it now she 7! I have 5 of them that I wash and rotate. To be honest it’s been great as a consort object if ever she is away from home or upset. Always means I can get her to sleep or anyone else if in a strange place. Really it’s up to you, but sounds like your baby likes to chew something in her sleep. If you take teddy away she will probably suck thumb or something.

DD2 is breastfed and I would lover her to start chewing a teddy bear and give my boob break 😀

Don’t forget that pretty soon she will be able to move teddy herself so you won’t be woken to do it.
