Sleep training

Hi all. I'm really unsure on whether to sleep train. DS is 6mo, is ebf and currently sleeps for about 3 hours at a time before waking. I feed him and he goes back to sleep. I can put him down wide awake and he will go back to sleep with the help of some white noise. I recently tried to cut down night feeds but was up every night for over 2 hours with him. It was awful and went on for over 2 weeks so I got fed up and went back to feeding which, at the moment is the easiest option. So I don't know whether or not to sleep train? Part of me feels I'll just follow his lead and let him decide when he wants to drop feeds as I know it won't last forever. The other part of me really wishes I could get more than 3 hours sleep in one go!

I think if he is genuinely feeding and is hungry then you shouldn't sleep train.

I'm not sure if it is just out of habit or genuine hunger, he is quite a big baby so does feed a lot. Cutting out a night feed was more trouble than it was worth. I'd be up for so long that he'd need a feed anyway!

The fact you can put him down awake is a big win here. He will eventually drop feeds when he's ready and already is able to fall back asleep alone. I'd suck it up for a bit longer tbh, he's basically half way there!
