Feel like I'm failing

My nearly 6 month old has always been an OK sleeper. I've started putting him in his cot in his own room at 7.30 and he falls to sleep unaided which is great! I feed him around 10pm before I go to bed & put him back. But around 1am he wakes and won't settle back in his cot, I end up bringing him in the crib next to my bed, at around 3am he's up again and as I'm so tired I just put him in bed with me! This is a habit I really wanna get out of. I don't wanna confuse him by putting him in 3 different beds every night! I also end up feeding him at 3am to settle him but he doesn't need it. I have also noticed his nappy is soaked through in the morning so I'm going to start changing it again during the night as this could be what's waking him and making him uncomfortable! My friends seem to have their babies in a perfect routine & I feel like I've failed in doing this 😭 help please!! Do I just need to persevere and take the time to rock him back to sleep at these intervals? Any advice appreciated at this point . I'm exhausted

When you say he wakes up and won't settle (in his cot) is he happy and babbling or is he crying? My son wakes up quite often around 2/3am babbling away, and I just leave him to it. Sometimes he does it for ages, but always sounds chirpy and is not crying. Eventually he goes back to sleep. I learnt the hard way that rocking and feeding him make no difference, so now I just let him have his little night time party!

Let him sleep with you and feed him to sleep - I don’t do anything else, it’s too much hassle and I also think it’s good for them to be close to you. It sounds like you’re doing a fab job xxx
