Pelvic thrusts

Over the past week I've noticed that when my son (6 months) is laying in my arms he's started doing a sort of pelvic thrust.
I'd put it down to a sort of settling down to sleep habit he was developing, but yesterday he did it a few times throughout the day while being held by other people.

A bit of googling has told me that it can be a sign of thrush in baby girls, but nothing about boys.

Has anyone else experienced this? And is it normal before I ring my health visitor at a more sensible hour for advice this morning?

Does he ever do it whilst awake? I do not want to frighten you...after all I'm not a doctor. But pelvic thrusts can be a sign of seizures in infants.

I suggest you try to record him next time he does it so you can show the doctor.

Does he also do it in other situations, not just when going to sleep? I have a 5 month old and since he has gotten stronger he is constantly pushing his hips up. Whether he is lying flat, sat in a chair, being held etc. I have watched him do it and it's when he is trying to straighten his legs, and trying to push himself up. If I give him a hand and help him stand on his legs he is happy.

No, it's only when he's being held and starting to fall asleep. I'll keep an eye on him and see if he starts doing it in different situations too, but he spends a lot of time sat up because he hates being on his back.
