Hi
My baby is 16 week and is currently co sleeping as she dosnt seem to sleep on her own. We are trying the Ferber method this weekend.
Has anyone got any advice on this and the best way to do it? I can see me crumbling as soon as she cries 😩

Dont think its recommended before 6 months. You could look into gentler methods

Not recommended until six months as pp said. Look at gentle sleep until then.

What does gentle sleep entail?

There’s a few different ones like pick up/put down which basically means picking her up until calm and putting back down and then repeating about 100 times

When my DS was like this I tended to sleep with my hand rubbing his back as he was in a next to me crib. It seemed to reassure him that I was there

16 weeks?? Far too early for trying sleep training I would think.

I’m a big fan of Ferber but this is too early OP. You’re also likely in the thick of the 4 month sleep regression.

No. Just no. Your baby is tiny. Her sleep pattern is normal. Deal with it

blueskiesbrighteyes · 17/01/2020 15:13

I did it at 4.5 months. Life changing. From the first night it made a difference. We got to the point where he was waking up after less than an hour and then every 1-2 hrs and it was killing us. Best thing we ever did

I know you are tired as a new mum but leaving your baby to cry int the way forward. Please think again

Did you comfort every so often?
