I have a 20 month old DS that's sleeps throughout the night but it's getting him to fall asleep in his bed, I put another oat up about my eldest DS with Autism who messes around when it comes to bed time but most nights DS2 does find it hard to actually fall asleep in his bed, ive allows him to fall asleep in my front room, in his rocking chair or on my sofa but takes so long for him to settle down but at the moment he's doing ok when one he does fall asleep he does sleep until around 6:30am, can anyone share any tips for "sleep training" or do you think I should just carry on with what I'm doing, which is settle DS2 in the front room till he goes to sleep then carry him to bed, I have no problems with it but would like him to fall asleep in his own bed on his own or without me being in the room, thank you in advance :)

Not meant to sound harsh so please don’t take it as that...

But why, is he sleeps soundly through the night, are you so desperate for him to fall asleep in his bed?

I still cuddle my 18 month old to sleep, and it takes anywhere between 10-45mins.

But what wonderful cuddles they are and I know I’ll be so grateful that I’ve made the most of them when he is older

But 45 mins isn't long, my DS2 can take a few hours to fall asleep, most nights he'll fall asleep at 11pm other nights he'll fall asleep at 8:30pm but hey I'm not complaining

I don't think you're unreasonable for not wanting bedtime to last a few hours! I don't have any advice as I feed and cuddle my 9 month old to sleep, but I hope someone comes along with some :-)
