4 month regression - baby is exhausted

My four month old DD has gone from waking to feed twice a night to 6+ times a night (every 90 mins to two hours). She'll only accept being fed back to sleep at the moment. Do I go with it? She just seems to exhausted and grumpy all day.

We tried a few nights of co-sleeping but she was even more exhausted - I'd do it if I thought it was helping her.

Once or twice I've spotted her sucking her thumb back to sleep instead of crying - do I just feed her whenever and hope she catches on with the thumb sucking soon?

Have you gave her a dummy? Maybe she finds the suckling sensation soothing. Thats why shes sucking her thumb and looking for a feed. Much easier to throw the dummies away at 2 or 3 than break the habit of thumb sucking. My friend and her sister were still sucking their thumbs in front of tv in 3rd year of secondary school. I didn't want to buy dummies for my two as i was BF and my midwife told me it would cause nipple confusion. I went to my doc (male) and mentioned DS was crying through the night. He asked if i had given him a dummy. I explained about midwives advice. He rolled his eyes to the ceiling.. leaned forward in his chair and said. . Now you listen to me! I have 3 children.. and if you think for one minute your DS isnt going to know the difference between your breast and a rubber dummy tit then theres something very wrong with him. As your doc im telling you to leave here and go straight to the chemists and buy dummies and get yourself a decent nights sleep which will do everyone in the house the world of good.
Thankgod for that mans advice Grin

She does have a dummy - she likes it for naps but not really at night for some reason!
