Side sleeper recommendations

Looking for advice as I'm exhausted and not coping so thinking a side sleeper cot may be a solution! Can anyone recommend one that's good but not a fortune (as already bought her crib and bed!)

DS is 3 and slept fairly well in his crib bed from birth after FF & lots of cuddles. However DD is 4 weeks and wakes almost instantly after being transferred to her crib. I've tried all the things that worked with DS so bedsheets & baby grows bag smell of us, she likes brown noise, tries DS nightlights etc. But she sleeps best on/with us. She will sometimes nap on her own during the day but at night she wants the comfort of DH or I.

DH and I are knackered, he works FT and is a great partner in all respects but we cannot get sufficient sleep! I've tried going to bed early but have limited time with DS as it is as he's in nursery half the week. The other half the week he's with me so naps are impossible. He's also just been through 2/3 weeks of bad colds and nursery being closed so for the last few weeks I've had both the kids everyday

Meant to say during the day it's kit guarantees she will nap without me. Today for example even when she seemed in such a deep sleep she wakes of I transfer her to her crib

Hi I have the babylo cozi sleeper we got it from Smyths it was only £90, compared to other brands like the chico next2me which are alot more expensive for pretty much the same thing. Its been great you can drop the side and attach to your bed, and it's adjustable to suit all kinds of beds x

Thank you so much for your reply. I was looking at that one before your posted and also the Chicco Next to Me. I'm absolutely separate and with Amazon I could get the Chicco one tomorrow so I've ordered that. I really hope it works!

Can I ask how you dress your bed to ensure the baby is not at risk? I'm really baffled by whether I can use a duvet as normal but presume if so to make sure it doesn't overhang near DD?

I've always used sleeping bags since he was born, i love them they give u peace of mind that he can't pull the covers over his face, i dress him in a vest, babygrow and then the sleeping bag and hes fine, i have a gro egg thermometer in our room and its always between 17-20 degrees, I'll try and attach the guide i followed for what to dress them in.

Sorry I was so tired I have worded that badly! DD sleeps in a baby sleeping bag.

I meant to say as her crib will be attached so I need to do anything to make our bedding safe? Ie can I still use a duvet as normal on our bed?

I have a next2me for my four month old. To be honest it's been a waste of money as I mainly use it to keep my phone in. Baby sleeps in my bed between me and the cot, I still haven't figured out how to get her in it without waking her. Probably a bed guard would have been cheaper.
In terms of bedding, I sleep with one firm pillow that doesn't move around. I wear a long sleeved pyjama top over a T-shirt to be warm enough (I've heard of people sleeping in dressing gowns with the cord removed but personally I think that's too bulky) and pull the duvet up to my waist. I have less duvet on my side and put it further down the bed so I can't easily pull it up in my sleep. I just sleep facing baby with her face at boob height (supposed to be this level is safest however you choose to feed them). Baby just sleeps in a sleeping bag.

Thanks @Hollywhiskey that's my fear that it just sits next to the bed! However I need to try something Smile

Well they're all different, hopefully yours likes it more than mine!
