I can't work out what your issue is. I think you are saying you cant get them back to sleep at 5 00am? If you are getting over 7 hours of continuous sleep from a 3 month old that's pretty amazing to be honest.

Sounds alright if he's happy. You could have him in bed with you (safely) after morning feed and he might sleep some more, mine did and it was lovely. Pair of us slept peacefully for at least a couple of hours longer.

So he's doing 5pm to 5am with 2 dreamfeeds? He's unlikely to sleep for longer in the morning unless you push bedtime back. Do it gradually, 15 minutes every few days maybe?

Yep I agree with PP, he is doing 5pm-5am with 2 dream feeds and a 7 hour stretch. That's amazing for his age. If you want him to sleep later you will need to shift his bedtime back, eg 7pm-7am.

5 sounds a little too early for bed, but seriously, stop moaning, this is amazing for a 3 month old, they just like being attached to you

My 3 year old doesn’t sleep as well as your 12 week old!

5pm to 5am with 2 dream feeds is amazing! What’s the issue? Is it the 5am wake up? It might get later, it might not. Some children are just early risers and 5.30am isn’t unheard of as a normal wake up time.

TrixieFranklin · 05/01/2020 17:40

Eh? What's your issue?

You’ll never get more than 12 hours of overnight sleep, even the best sleepers won’t do any longer than this! If 5pm to 5am isn’t working for you then gradually push bedtime back by 15 minutes until you’ve got a 7pm feed followed by bedtime, dream feed when you go to bed at around 10.30, then sleep until 7am. This was our routine at about that age and it worked great. You cannot expect a baby, even one that fully sleeps through, to stay asleep for longer than 12 hours- if they did then I’d assume illness and take them to the doctor.
