Dummies for naps but not at night?

Hey lovely mamas!

So my LO has hit the 7 month mark and the dummy has become a nightmare... dropping out every hour or so in the night (and she is nowhere near being able to replace it herself otherwise I wouldn't mind). We went cold turkey on it at 4 months but gave it back around 6 months when she got a bad cold. Since then she's either had a cold or been teething so I've postponed taking it away... but enough is enough!

My concern is that first time round naps became an absolute nightmare without it! Naps have been the bain of my life since she was born tbh but I'm going back to work and need to know she will be able to nap!

In short, do people have experience of taking the dummy away at night but letting their little ones have it for naps? Any success stories? Or am I digging a bigger hole and confusing the poor madam?

Advice much appreciated Wine

No advice but following this post. My 6.5month DD must of woke at least 4 or 5 times last night for her dummy!

Following as well 😂 my DD was waking up all last night for the dummy. Just manage to cut out night feeds so I'm just thankful for that at the minute

I'm considering trying some sleep training (shock, horror!) and going cold turkey... feel like it will be very hard for a few nights but worth it in the end.

I've been doing sleep training but with the dummy instead of giving her bottles. And so far so good. Its been almost two weeks without a feed. And I'm hoping eventually when will just be old enough to grab her dummy.
