swaddles are great
what about using a sling?
if he is windy try infacol before each feed

I think this (the not wanting to settle) is pretty typical for 4 week olds. I'd buy a sling if I were you. At least your arms will be free. He's ever so young - he will grow out of it. Honestly! DS did and DD has. It just takes a while but it's knackering while it lasts - hence the sling.

Has he always had it? If so, you might want to mention it to your HV or GP. If it's just come on, it could be just one of those things that will pass as quickly as it arrived.

he throws swaddles away with feet now - worked a treat when smaller..not now

also tried sling but he seems to curbed in it and cries - got the mothercare one few days ago after exhaustion and it doesn't work

may try infacol - but worried re using medicines so early on

DS had it from birth practically
have a look here
is your LO sicky at all?

CorrieDale · 21/08/2007 19:59

I'd try another sling. The Mothercare ones all seem to be front carriers rather than slings. Perhaps you could try a ring sling? or a pouch? So that he can lie in it, rather than dangle, if you know what I mean? There are websites that have trial offers so you can try out a few before you buy. I swear by my hug-a-bub - it's so much better than the Baby Bjorn carrier I had with DS. DD feels so secure and comforted in it, I have to ration its use because she'll sleep through feeds in it. Other people here swear by their ring slings or pouches - the Coorie pouch seems very popular, as does the hugababy ring sling.
