At my wits end! My daughter (8weeks) is driven crazy by colic I've tried everything from baby massage, Colief and Gripe water but every night for a good few hours trying to settle her is impossible because of her tummy pains 😞 any tips? Also tips on how to get your baby to self soothe?

I think it's unlikely you'll get a baby to self soothe at 8 weeks. She's not yet used to being outside the womb and she wants to be held close to you and feel your warmth. It's good for her development so try to give that to her as much as you can, especially since she's in pain. If she only falls asleep on you for now then so be it. She will learn to fall asleep by herself when she's ready (I had a shock one day when my baby suddenly fell asleep on the play mat after weeks of always needing a cuddle!)

For the colic have you tried raising and cycling her legs, feeding her upright, keeping her upright after a feed, improving her latch if you breastfeed, and using anti colic bottles? I think a bath can be helpful too. The evenings must be horrendous and I'm sure you're doing a great job. It will pass... Flowers

My daughter had colic and one night I took her to a & e. She was checked over and fine but screamed for 11 hours non stop. And I mean hysterical crying every single evening from 5pm onwards. Anyway the nurse there said her little boy was the same and after switching to a comfort milk he was a different child. So the next day I switched to cow and gate comfort out of desperation and within two days the crying in the evenings stopped and haven't returned since. Don't know why, but it's a thick milk with less lactose if I remember correctly . Obviously if you're breastfeeding I'm not sure. But if you Google that milk, a lot of other mums swear by it and said the screaming stopped after switching. For me it was a miracle as I also tried infacol etc and none of it did anything to help
