Has anyone used Millpond sleep clinic?

Hi just wondering has anyone used them? The package I would be looking at is the siblings package which is £420, it’s a lot of money if it isn’t any good. The reviews and comments people have put seem really good but I give in a lot where my kids are concerned, so just wondered if people had used them and what there thoughts are.

Yes started it yesterday, it showed me how bad my daughters naps really are and she desperately wants sleep, so I’m hoping they can help with that too. I’m hope it is very gentle with my son, as he’s scared of that dark and has bad dreams, I’ve started sleeping in his bedroom so they are going to help to unravel it all.

Don’t worry babs, they are very gentle. I can understand your concerns. I was the same, I was terrified of letting my DC cry at all.

They have lots of different ways of helping. Your method will be tailored to you. Once you’ve spoken to your sleep consultant you will feel happier I’m sure.

It’s hard as well to hand things over to someone else, but also a relief.
They are experts. Mandy is very highly regarded and has written books. The NHS use her advice. When she was helping us, she was also helping Dr Robert Winston’s grandchild. They went on to make some videos about different aspects of sleep.

I learnt so much about sleep and the cycles of sleep from her.

That’s sounds great, our consultant is Clair, we are speaking to her Monday evening so hopefully you are right and I will feel better then. Our daughter does get very upset when tired so I’m hoping going without the dummy she will manage, like you say they are experts so I just need to relax a bit 😬

It’s takes 4-6 weeks for the program to work, so that’s a lot of nights and tiny steps. They won’t take her dummy away on the first night.

I fed my DC to sleep and it was a gradual reduction in the feed length , until it was zero mins and holding her. So it’s very slow, but depends on how your DC react to each step.

I didn’t think I’d ever be able to get my DC to stop feeding to sleep, but it worked.

Best of luck and a hug. You’ll be ok.

I wasn’t able to get a consultation when my DH was home, so I had my DC with me. I gave her the Argos book and she ripped all the pages out and tore them up. I was so grateful it occupied her for the telephone call!

That is hilarious! She sounds like a character. I will let you know how Monday goes, have a nice weekend x

My dd sleeps well (now her cold is away) but I'm following this with interest Incase I need this in the future.

Hi all, my DH had the call last night with millpond as my eldest is ill, he said the lady knew a lot and was nice. With my DD we need to learn her to put her own dummy in as she has reflux they think she’s still using it to sooth and need to sort out her naps too. With my DS it will be gradual retreat once he’s better. With my DD I think she’s a little young to put her own dummy in she’s 6 months but was premature by 6 weeks. We will see.

See how it goes. Are you having a plan for you to follow. The phone call should have been to explain how to start etc. Can you email for more info?

Babs5693 · 11/12/2019 08:44

Yes we have a plan, tbh even if her naps are more structured I’d be happy, I think it’s hard at the moment with her reflux which they think she still has some as she coughs a bit which can be due to that, which was good to know so we are going to mention it to the hospital at our next appointment. My DH said the lady was really good and really knew her stuff. Once my son is better I can start the plan with him too. It’s nice someone telling you what to do though, it really helps. I think next week she is going to go through some techniques with us.

They are the best sleep clinic out there.

Sorry your little boy is poorly, .not a good time to start a sleep program.

I felt so much better once I’d got someone else sorting out the mess we’d got into. It was nice to hand responsibility over to someone else. A friend of mine didn’t do any sleep training on her child and has a 9yr old who never sleeps, since birth. It’s destroyed her.

Babs5693 · 11/12/2019 12:33

Oh goss that’s terrible, I think some eventually get there on there own but some need a gentle steer in the right direction, how’s old is your child now? It is good someonr else just planning it for you, my DD was crying last night and my husband said it’s because she’s on stage on of sleep! She will settle soon 😂

Hi, can I ask how you got on? I'm thinking of going to millpond next week, really struggling with sleep and super interested to know you're experience!

DobbyTheHouseElk · 01/01/2023 19:54

Definitely do it. It was the best thing for us. Life changing. They are such lovely kind, non judgmental people.

AliceS1994 · 03/01/2023 14:57

Thanks so much for your response! I will be booking with them I think!

Sxp842 · 13/10/2023 09:30

Hi just wondered if anyone has recent experiences of millpond? Thinking about contacting them to help with my 6 month old
