Looking for cranial osteopath recommendations

Hi everyone I have recently discovered that cranial osteopathy can help my baby with reflux. She is 3 months old and vomits almost every feed and would not sleep on her back. Maybe you could recommend osteopath that helped your baby in East Anglia region? Ipswich/Colchester/Norwich?

You do know there’s no evidence base to support cranial osteopathy?

I know there is not much proof but there are already scientific articles apearing about chiropractic and possible benefits. I would rather try this. Many mums said that helped their babies, that is why I am looking for recommendations. It is better trying this than using medicine that has carcinogens in it. Smile

Reflux is painful. Cranial osteopathy will be no help at all - it's a placebo effect on the parents at best - the modern equivalent of witchcraft. Give your poor baby some Gaviscon (prescribed by your GP) at the very least. Otherwise you are letting her suffer unnecessarily.

Don’t see anything wrong in trying osteopath. If it is waste of money it is my money at the end. I am just doing everything I can to help my baby. I asked for recommendations from mums who actually tried osteopaths.. I am scientist myself and I know that even science is very often based on speculation and there are so many research articles that contridict each other..

There are currently 3 nhs trusts across the country now offering cranial osteopathy to babies following “traumatic births” , there is limited evidence but there is some evidence there to support the use of cranial osteopathy. I agree If the baby needs medication too by all means use it but it is definitely something that does work for some babies and there’s nothing wrong with a parent wanting to try it to help her baby.

I don't have recommendations in your area but I do use one for DD who lectures on it all round the uk and abroad. We are based in Scotland.

What I will say is that regardless of my doubts initially, DD has one hundred percent improved since seeing him. We went from a very very unhappy rigid screaming baby who did not sleep to one who smiles all day long and whilst still not the best sleeper in the world, is without a doubt better. The sleep thing now is more a cuddle issue than a pain issue and she can and does sleep well when in the right mood.

After two sessions before Christmas she started to sleep normally in that she was still and content. Prior to that she was writhing around and groaning.

I am glad I explored it and have seen nothing but benefits here.
