Exhausted with 15 month old

My LO is 15 months old and has only slept through the night once. He wakes 3 times in the night, mostly he will go back to sleep easily but around 2 or 3am he gets upset and takes ages to settle, and then only with my OH, who apparently has some special powers! He often brings him in the bed to settle him, but I want to avoid this as it was a habit which we pretty much kicked.
Me and my OH have different views about how to settle LO in the night, which descends into arguments because we're tired and grumpy.
LO wakes every morning at 5am, and while we take it in turns to get up with him, we both work every day so it's pretty difficult. We're at each others throats 5 days out of 7 and it's making us miserable.
How do you deal with differences about caring/settling your baby/child? The only time we get to talk properly is in the evening when LO is in bed but by that time we're exhausted.
Living on coffee and hope, but even that is fading. Everyone says it will pass but we're really struggling. Words of wisdom appreciated!

No advice I’m afraid but handhold as we’re in the same boat with 16 month old.
It’s only mummy that can settle her though, unfortunately for me. I do let her into my bed if she wakes up after 3am, as much as I really really didn’t want to, and I may have her in with up until she’s a teenager, I need some sleep.

Our 20 month old was the same at that age - although 3 times a night would have been a good night!

We did try various gentle 'sleep training' ideas, and going in to settle without taking out of the cot, and never leaving LO crying for very long at all before going in, so that he knew we would go in when he needed us, but still not picking up, explaining it was sleep time, etc, seemed to work the best - but we knew there was nothing actually wrong with him, he was just waking up and grumpy that we wouldn't let him in bed with us.

All in all though his sleep was shocking until he was around 18 months old, when over the space of a week it dramatically improved and I would say now 5 nights out of 7 he doesn't wake at all, the others will just be once or twice for his dummy.

Hang in there - it's hard, but it doesn't last forever!

Hi @sageadvice21, this is just like our LO, I know he is ok and not really in need of anything, but waking up nonetheless. It's so good to know that it was a phase for your LO and that you're on the other side. Sleep deprivation is awful, we're certainly not alone but it's only you that can power yourself through until the next night!

And thanks @Rowrowboat, I really hope things improve for you soon too. I'm realising that having my LO in bed isn't so awful after all, and that you sometimes need to do things you wouldn't ordinarily do just to survive (i.e. get some sleep!!)
