Am I even helping her??

DD is four months and absolutely will not nap without screaming herself to sleep. And I mean really horrible, painful sounding screaming. I hold her, rock her, feed her, and I've tried reducing time between naps and it makes no difference - she just screams for half an hour before finally just exhausting herself. When held she pulls away from me, hits me and seems to not like it at all, but equally will not fall asleep by herself in her cot if I put her down when she's sleepy and calm. Can anyone reassure me that I'm even providing any comfort to her?? I have no intention of doing any kind of CIO on her, but it feels like she just hates me and being rocked/soothed/walked around/cuddled etc is just upsetting her Sad

4 mo sleep regression. It is tough but it will pass.
Pram/ car?

Lonelymum11 · 22/10/2019 16:33

She is ok in the pram in that she won't cry, but she won't sleep either so just ends up more tired by the time we get home. The car seat she absolutely loathes and although she will sleep in it she still goes through the screaming to get there.
I know it will pass, it's just horrible having her scream for up to an hour several times a day and feeling like nothing I do comforts her. She always fed to sleep relatively easily before now which I know was lucky for us, but means I'm not used to this.

@Lonelymum11 My 4 month old DD is EXACTLY the same. So I have absolutely no advice but you are not alone!

She just had her second meltdown of the day and I am now stuck on the sofa while she sleeps, as it’s not worth the effort to put her down and then get her back to sleep another 5 times...

Fingers crossed the turning point is just around the corner.
