Ds has finally started rolling took to about 6.5months to actually roll while awake but he’s never liked tummy time to begin with. Now he’s started rolling in his sleep or atleast at night, he’s in a grobag with a sleep suit for warmth at the moment but I’m not sure if that’ll tangle n stop him rolling back.

Do I turn him back over? Do I take him out the bag? Do I go n check his face is clear? It’s video monitor but I can’t see how far round his head is if that makes sense.

Obviously he goes down on his back

Can he roll over onto his back-from-front?

He doesn’t seem to do it in his grobag, he can definitely do it during the day though.. not in the straightest of lines though.

Gro bags are great to keep them warm especially when they begin to roll over I used to have this concern with DD me and DH would be constantly rolling her back then by the time we would come downstairs to watch the monitor again she would have rolled onto her front we were exhausted from constantly turning her over once she rolled all the way over we just let her be after a while shes now 4 and still sleeps on her front!we just used to make sure her face wasnt down that she was able to breathe

That was basically my entire night last night, every time I got back in bed he was back round. He’s been in his own room a month as he slept all night and Snores like his dad...
I’m hoping he’ll roll earlier tonight maybe so I can watch to see if he rolls back/keeps his head clear. I’d thought about getting one of those breathing monitors too so I can properly tell..
Instead of giving up at 4 and being poked in the eye all morning.

Bless you I know we would constantly be worrying up all night until we had a convo how much longer are we going to be able to do this!?so that night we put her in grobag and just watched her decided to leave her...as long as you dont have a cot bumper no toys etc in there with him try not to worry so much if he can roll from back to front and back again check out the nhs website for guidance and guidelines.
He wont get caught in the grobag if it's the right size. Most importantly get a good night rest too
Not used those breathing monitors before only video monitor so not sure....

Rolled him back already he could breathe on his front but sounded really mucousy.. so I couldn’t help myself. I saw an anti roll strap and a roll monitor on amazon at this rate I’ll be tempted.

Bless you if it puts your mind to ease go for it x

I just left mine! You can’t keep watching the monitor and rolling them back all night.
I’m sure the advice says that once they can roll into the position themselves it’s fine?

Lunafortheloveogod · 15/10/2019 09:57

Massive snotty face this morning so he really did have a bunged up nose. I think I need to move the monitor, you can’t see if he’s fine once he rolls or if he’s face down.. he doesn’t have hair to use as a guide either lol. I think I’ll look at the jojo sleep suit style bags if his legs are free he’s all over the place so maybe knowing he can roll like there’s no tomorrow would save me worrying about it at least a little.
