What's going on with my year old?!

Up until about a week ago he was sleeping pretty consistently through the night, waking between 6 and 7 (I'd wake him at 7). He had a 45 min nap in the morning and then between 1hr 20 and 2 in the afternoon.
Suddenly he is only doing 40 in the afternoon. Our childminder has had success getting him back to sleep and if this happens he goes for around 1hr 45.
At night he is suddenly waking a lot, needing us to help him get back to sleep - the other night he was awake for 2 hours.

Any ideas? He is just starting to walk if thats relevant.

@NeverGotMyPuppy I’m afraid I have no answer but I just wanted to let you know we’re currently going through the exact same! Our dd is one year and had her immunisations last week and has recently learnt to crawl ( yep she’s a big baby and it took her a while to navigate lol) so I’m putting it down to these factors but I’ve read online big motor milestones can cause night waking for some reason?! We’ve been trying to allow her to soothe herself In the middle of the night as it’s becoming a pattern of between 2-3am. I’m not usually a fan on this and would usually have resorted to putting her in our bed but I’m really trying to avoid this time. Sorry I have no answer for you- but just thought I’d let you know your not alone!

So yesterday and today we have limited his morning nap to 30 mins. He is going down really easily so I do worry that he isnt ready to drop it all together. Yesterday he had an hour and a half at lunch and the night was better (woke up once) and today he has had over 2 hours for his lunchtime.

Hm.
